HOLY WEEK SERVICES

Saturday 12 April, the day before Palm Sunday

Palm cross making and decoration of the church from 1.00pm.  [The parish priest’s duty is to supply quality coffee, tea and hot cross buns to the workers!]

 

Palm Sunday 13 April at 7.30 and 9.30am

Blessing of the Palms during Communion services.  Both morning services will be the same with words on screen to accommodate the varying liturgy for this special day.

 

Wednesday 16 April at 7.00pm – Tenebrae Service

–  The Chapel of St John’s, University of Queensland

This powerful short Holy Week service will be offered with organ music and choral singing, and moving readings and prayers.  Further information including directions / parking etc. will be supplied.

 

Thursday 17 April at 6.30 pm – a Passover Seder

A meal of roast lamb and vegetables incl. bitter herbs to recall the Last Supper

 

Good Friday 18 April – 8.00 am to approximately 9.00am

Devotional Service with art work and music to commemorate the crucifixion.

SERVICES TO CELEBRATE THE RESURRECTION

Service of First Light:  Easter Service

#1:  Saturday 19 April at 6.30pm

​

Lighting of a fire from which we light the Easter Candle symbolising Jesus’ rising from death to life, following into the church in candlelit procession for our celebration of the Resurrection including Holy Communion.

 

Easter Service #2:  Sunday 20 April at 8.00 am

 

Celebration of the Resurrection including Holy Communion.
